Trainer Toby Edmonds is hoping for more Magic Millions glory at the Gold Coast in January following Whypeeo’s effortless win at Doomben on Saturday.
Starting $1.16 favourite, the Blue Sky Bloodstock purchased son of I Am Invincible led all the way to down Red Hot Miss by three lengths in the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap (1110m).
Perfect Rain finished third, a further three-quarters of a length away.
Three-year-old Whypeeo, was a $200,000 buy for Blue Sky Bloodstock at last year’s Magic Millions sales from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud and has now won three of his four starts for a $99,000 return for connections.
Trainer Toby Edmonds was in Melbourne with stable star Houtzen who won the Magic Millions Classic in January and was represented by son, stable foreman Trent Edmonds.
“He controlled the race from the start so it was a good effort,” Edmonds said.
“He’ll go for a short let-up now and come back and get ready for the Magic Millions Guineas.
