The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable delivered Breednet's ‘One to Watch’ on Thursday with a resounding debut victory at Hawkesbury for a son of the former Waterhouse trained Golden Slipper winner Sebring.
Three year-old colt PENSKE was a short-priced favourite for the 1000 metre maiden off the back of an impressive barrier trial victory and after jumping brilliantly from gate one set up a commanding early lead.
Held together in the lead by Brenton Avdulla, Penske turned for home more than three lengths in front and maintained his margin to win in a brisk 56.62 seconds.
Penske (pictured as a yearling below) was a $150,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Gai Waterhouse and Blue Sky Bloodstock's Julian Blaxland from the Yarraman Park draft and was bred by David Bentata.
Penski is the first winner for Princess Natural, a half-sister by Danehill Dancer (IRE) to stakes-winner Zizou from the family of leading sire Not A Single Doubt.
Blue Sky Bloodstock would like to congratulate owners; G1G Racing & Breeding, Mr A Roden, Mr A A Gush, Mr I Pirina, Mr H H Chong, Mr S W Bruhn, Mr A W Bruhn, Mrs D L Nugent, Mrs L J Bruhn, Mr J Chong and Mrs P Pirina on the three length victory.
