Queensland Next for Star Witness Filly

Astute trainer Clarry Conners has lofty plans for the Blue Sky Bloodstock-purchased two year-old Star Witness filly LEGAL GIRL, who scored a determined win at Wyong on Thursday.

Stepping up in trip to 1600 metres for the first time at her third run back from a spell, Legal Girl settled well just off the pace for Corey Brown and surged to the line to win by a short half head in a competitive finish.

"I really like her, I love this horse," enthused Conners.

"She'll go to Queensland now for the JJ Atkins (1600m, Group I on June 10)."

A $140,000 Magic Millions purchase for Blue Sky Bloodstock from the Segenhoe Stud draft, Legal Girl is the first winner for Listed Tasmanian Oaks winner La Fantastique.

Congrtulations go to the Legal Girl's owners; Yearlings Promote Optimism, Mr M S Sowerby, Mr S Wilson, Adcock Thoroughbred Racing Pty Ltd and Blue Fantasy.
