With an outstanding set of trials conducted at Randwick on Friday, the final day of the 2014/2015 racing season, there were some exciting results for Blue Sky Bloodstock graduates.
The opening heat of the day was won in impressive fashion by the Gai Waterhouse-trained AMANPOUR (left).
Carrying a new set of silks since the last time she was on the track, the Group 1-winning mare was purchased by Rosemont Stud and Blue Sky Bloodstock at the recent Magic Millions National Sale for $1.5 million from the draft of Gooree Park Stud.
A last start winner of the Group 1 Queen of The Turf Stakes where she defeated Catkins and Noble Protector, the well-bred Northern Meteor mare looks to have retuned in fine style and there appears to be some exciting times ahead for her.
The fourth heat of the day saw the Blue Sky Bloodstock and Gai Waterhouse Racing Inglis Easter yearling purchase WOODBINE finish a very good third behind his stablemates Greatwood and Excess Knowledge.
Having also finished third in his first trial this time in, also behind Greatwood, Woodbine (left) is now likely to make his seasonal debut in the coming weeks.
Another of the Blue Sky Bloodstock yearling purchases to perform well at the trials was HAVANA (below).
Somewhat of an enigma, Starcraft’s son looked very good in his heat over the 735m, defeating Aomen and Holy Delusions.
Back with trainer Paul Messara after a campaign with Team Hawkes, the Group 3 winner has proven that he is very competitive at stakes class, and we look forward to him re-capturing the form when know he is capable of.
