The Gai Waterhouse-trained Woodbine will head back to his birthplace on Saturday week when the son of former champion galloper Miss Finland tackles the Inglis 3YO Guineas (1400m) at Scone.
Woodbine was purchased for $750,000 by Blue Sky Bloodstock and Gai Waterhouse from the Arrowfield draft at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Sale.
He's the second foal of Miss Finland, who carried the Arrowfield colours to victory in 11 races including the Golden Slipper and VRC Crown Oaks while accumulating earnings in excess of $4.6 million.
Woodbine was seventh, beaten six lengths by Hanna's Goal in the Group I All Aged Stakes last start and has been in work since November last year.
Woodbine worked over 1200 metres at Randwick on Tuesday with champion jockey Nash Rawiller barely moving a muscle on the son of Hussonet.
They recorded 1.23.2 for the trip with the last 600 metres in an easy 39 seconds and last 200 metres in 13.3 seconds.
The time was nothing flash but the manner in which he produced the gallop suggests he's got another run in him and his coat is in perfect condition.
He's got a habit of sweating up pre-race but it doesn't seem to affect his performance. It's worth noting all three of his victories have been on good tracks. The colt has been forced to race on rain affected going at three of his past four starts.
