Sargent Says I'll Take The Jag

Pictured as a yearling, I'LL TAKE THE JAG, now a 3yo has thrived in recent weeks as he heads to the trials

Randwick trainer John Sargent has been impressed with what he's seen to date of Blue Sky Bloodstock Easter 2013 yearling purchase I'LL TAKE THE JAG, a 3yo High Chaparral colt from a sister to Bentley Biscuit, formerly in the care of Paul Messara. Recently taking over the management of his family's Arrowfield Stud, Messara reduced his training numbers significantly, hence the switch of the handsome colt to former Champion New Zealand trainer John Sargent (now based at Randwick).

A $410,000 purchase from the draft of Blandford Lodge for Blue Sky's Julian Blaxland and Paul Messara racing, I'll Take The Jag has been brought along patiently by his trainer and heads to the trials in Sydney over the coming fortnight.

From a Fastnet Rock half sister to three time Group 1 winner Bentley Biscuit, Sargent will certainly give this fellow every chance to succeed this preparation and with a longer term view to the Sydney Autumn carnival.
