Keep De Rose On Track for Diamond Day Return

Group performed Kiwi mare KEEP DE ROSE galloped well at trainer Danny O’Brien’s Barwon Heads property this week ahead of her return to Flemington and a big Autumn. A last start 3rd in the Group 2 Energy Australia Stakes (Matriarch) at Flemington on Stakes day in November, O’Brien and her Blue Sky owners are bullish about the mare taking the next step this preparation. Lightly raced with 4 wins and 5 placings from just 10 starts, the Keeper mare was purchased by Blue Sky Bloodstock’s Julian Blaxland from the Cambridge Stud draft at Karaka Premier in 2011 for NZ$135,000. With earnings of A$224,000 and a valuable Group placing in the spring, the 4yo mare will be out to secure a group win in her first up run on February 22nd (Blue Diamond Stakes Day) at Caulfield in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m).
